QMetar is a Wear OS app that shows aviation weather reports (METAR and TAF) and airport data for airfields you choose.

Data we collect

None. QMetar does not collect, store on any server, sell or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. It does not use your location.

Data stored on your watch

The app keeps on your watch only: the list of airports, the selected airport, your settings, and the last downloaded weather reports and airport data, so they can be shown without coverage. They never leave the watch and are deleted when you uninstall the app.

Network access

The app gets its data from two public services:

  • aviationweather.gov, of the U.S. National Weather Service, for weather reports. It receives the code of the airport you selected. For airfields without a weather report, it also receives an area around the airfield's published position, to find the nearest station that has one.
  • openAIP, for airport data (elevation, runways, frequencies and position). It receives the code of the airport.

Like any web request, these services receive your IP address; their own privacy policies apply. No other information is sent.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this same address.
