This policy explains how the Android app AviationChecklist (package com.AviationChecklist), by QRouting Software, handles your information. It applies to version 4.01 and later.

Summary

AviationChecklist does not collect, store on any server, sell or share any personal data. The app has no user accounts, no advertising and no analytics, and it has no Internet access. Its only Android permission is the Google Play license check.

Data kept on your device

The aircraft, checklists, tasks, notes, problem descriptions, history of completed checklists and settings that you create are stored only in the private storage of the app on your device. Other apps cannot read them, and we never receive them.

Uninstalling the app or clearing its data in the Android settings deletes all of it.

Files you import

When you import an aircraft file, a backup or the database of a previous version, you pick the file in the Android file picker. The app reads only the file you choose, and only to copy its checklists into the app.

Files and emails you share

When you export an aircraft, back up your data, send an aircraft or share the history, the app passes the file or text to the destination you choose (a folder, a cloud drive, an email app...). This happens only when you ask for it. Once it is in that destination, the privacy policy of that app or service applies.

Android backup

If backup is turned on in your device, Android may save the app's database and settings in your Google account, so they are restored when you install the app on a new device. This backup is done by Android and Google, not by us, and we cannot access it. It is covered by the Google Privacy Policy, and you can turn it off in the backup settings of your device.

Google Play license check

AviationChecklist is a paid app. When it starts, it asks the Google Play Store app of your device whether the app was bought with the Google account of the device. Google Play answers only whether it was bought: the app does not receive your name, email or any other account data, and it keeps the answer only on your device. This check is done by Google Play, under the Google Privacy Policy.

Text-to-speech

If you turn on reading aloud for a checklist, the text of its tasks is sent to the text-to-speech engine installed on your device. The app does not send it anywhere else. The engine is provided by the device or a third party, under its own privacy policy.

Children

The app is a tool for pilots and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.
